According to Bloomberg, informed sources have revealed that Apple is planning to pay about $1 billion per year to procure the 1.2 trillion parametric super-intellectual intelligence model developed by Google parent Alphabet to facilitate the full upgrading of Siri voice assistants, which has long been delayed. After a long assessment period, the two companies are finalizing the technical authorization agreement.

Apple hopes that Google technology will rebuild Siri ‘ s sub-structure and pave the way for the introduction of new functionality next year. The 1.2 trillion parameters of the Google model will go well beyond the existing Apple model level. According to an early report by Bloomberg, apples, after testing Google Gemini, ChatGPT in Openai and Claude in Anthropic, targeted Google technology early this year as a transition programme until self-study models mature. It was revealed that the new version of Siri planned to be visible next spring. The details of the cooperation are still subject to possible adjustments, as the official publication is still a few months away. Following the news, the prices of the shares of both parties rose briefly, with apples rising slightly by 0.9 per cent to $271.70 and Alphabet increasing at a maximum of 3.2 per cent to $286.42. The customized Gemini system will greatly enhance the system ‘ s ability to process complex data and understand context by making a significant leap forward from the 150 billion parametric cloud model currently used by Apple Smart Services. The project’s internal designator, “Glenwood”, is led by the Vision Pro founder, Mike Rockwell, and the software engineering manager, Craig Federridge, with the new version of voice assistant (planned to be launched by iOS 26.4), code “Linwood”.

According to the agreement, the Google Gemini model will assume Siri ‘ s summary generation and planning functions, assist voice assistants to integrate and decide on core components for complex missions, and some Siri functions will continue to use the Apple Self-Research Model. The model will operate on the Apple private cloud computing server to ensure that user data are isolated from Google infrastructure. Apples have been equipped with a dedicated AI server hardware to support model operation. Despite the magnitude of the cooperation, both sides are less likely to publicize it publicly. Apple sees Google as a behind-the-scenes technology provider, unlike the cooperative model of setting Google as the default search engine for the Safari browser. The agreement was also distinguished from earlier negotiations to integrate Gemini as a chat robot directly into Siri, where discussions had been nearing the ground in 2024 and early this year, but had not materialized, and cooperation did not include the integration of GoogleAi searches into apple operating systems. At the Apple News conference, CEO Tim Cook indicated that Siri might eventually offer more chat robot options than ChatGPT. Many giants, such as Apple: Snap, using Gemini technology, are also based on Google Vertex AI platform development. For apples, however, this recognizes their backwardness in the AI area and demonstrates a vision of catching up with external technology.

Despite this, apples are not intended to be permanently dependent on the Gemini programme. Despite the AI brain drain, management plans to develop new technologies on a continuous basis and eventually replace the Google model with a self-study programme. To this end, the Apple Model team is developing a 1 trillion-billion parametric cloud model to be put into consumer-level applications as early as next year. Apple executives consider it to be of the same quality at custom-grade Gemini, but Google’s continuous and iterative Gemini makes apple catching more difficult – Gemini 2.5 Pro is at the top of most large language model rating units. Apples also continue to promote Apple Smart Services and a new version of the Siri Initiative. Owing to the long-standing constraints on Google services, the Siri upgrade of the Chinese localization programme will not be able to rely on Gemini. According to Bloomberg earlier, customized apple intelligence would use a self-study model to match the filter layer developed by Ali Baba, which would adjust content as required. Apple is also considering working with 100 degrees on AI services.
